The night the MDCAT 2026 result came out, my cousin did what half of Punjab did. She opened her phone, typed “MDCAT result” into Google, and clicked the first shiny link she saw.
It asked for her CNIC, her phone number, and a fee to “unlock” her result.
She nearly paid it.
That is the whole reason for this article. Checking your MDCAT 2026 result online takes about two minutes when you use the right website, and it costs nothing. The trouble starts when tired, nervous students land on the wrong website first. So let me walk you through the exact steps, the way I walked my cousin through them, and then explain what your score actually means for MBBS and BDS admission.
The short answer first
If you sat the MDCAT 2026 in Punjab, your result is on the University of Health Sciences (UHS) Lahore results portal.
Go to results.uhs.edu.pk, pick the entry test option, choose the MDCAT 2026 result for the test held on 20 September 2026, and enter your roll number and your name exactly as printed on your admittance card. Tick the reCAPTCHA box and press Submit.
That is it. No fee, no CNIC, no account, no app download. If any website asks you to pay to see your MDCAT result, close it. It is not the official portal.
The test was held on 20 September 2026, and UHS announced the Punjab result on 24 September 2026, four days later. That quick turnaround is normal for UHS. The university has been running the Punjab MDCAT for years, and it usually puts the result up within a few days of the test.
Before you open the portal, keep two things ready
This sounds obvious, and it is the step most people skip. Then they sit there guessing.
First, keep your admittance card in your hand, or at least a clear photo of it on your phone. You need your roll number and the exact spelling of your name as it appears on that card. One extra space or a missing middle name can be enough for the portal to say it cannot find your result, and then you spend twenty minutes panicking over a spelling mistake.
Second, use a proper browser. Chrome on your phone works fine. The UHS results portal is a simple website, but it does not behave well on old built-in browsers or on Facebook’s in-app browser. If the page looks broken, open the link in Chrome instead of tapping it inside WhatsApp or Facebook.
My cousin made both mistakes in one evening. She typed her name from memory, got the “record not found” message, and decided the result had not been announced for her. Then she opened the portal link inside a chat app, where the reCAPTCHA box would not load. Two small fixes, and her result was on the screen in under a minute.
MDCAT 2026 result check online: step by step

Here is the full process for the MDCAT 2026 result check online through the UHS portal.
Step 1: Open the official results portal.
Type results.uhs.edu.pk into your browser. You can also go to the main UHS website at uhs.edu.pk and follow the results link from there, but the direct portal address is faster. Bookmark it once you are there, because you will need the same portal again for merit lists and admission updates.
Step 2: Choose the entry test option.
The portal opens with a page of large picture buttons for different kinds of results. Do not click MBBS or BDS. Those are for students who are already studying in a medical or dental college. MDCAT is an entry test, so tap the entry test option.
Step 3: Pick the MDCAT 2026 result.
You will see a list of entry test results. Find the line that reads something like “The Result of MDCAT 2026 for candidates seeking admissions to Medical and Dental Institutions in Punjab, held on 20th September 2026”. Tap that one. If you see more than one MDCAT entry, read the date carefully. The 2026 result is the one held on 20 September 2026.
Step 4: Enter your roll number and name.
Type your roll number first, then your name, both exactly as they appear on your admittance card. Double-check every digit. Roll numbers are long, and one wrong digit sends you to someone else’s record or to no record at all.
Step 5: Tick the reCAPTCHA box.
The portal asks you to confirm you are not a robot. Tick the box and wait for the green tick. On a slow connection, this can take a few seconds. Do not keep tapping it. If it fails, refresh the page once and try again.
Step 6: Press Submit and read your result card.
Your result appears on the screen with your name, roll number, and marks out of 180. Take a screenshot right away, and then download or save the result card as a PDF if the portal offers that option. Save it in a folder with your FSc result and matric result, because you will need all three when you apply for admission.
That screenshot habit saved my cousin a second round of stress. The portal gets very slow on result day, and again whenever a merit list is about to come out. Having your own copy means you do not have to fight the website a second time just to confirm your own marks.
What if the portal says “record not found”?
Do not assume the worst. Work through this list before you start worrying.
Check the spelling of your name against the admittance card, letter by letter. Check the roll number digit by digit. Make sure you picked the MDCAT 2026 entry, not an older year. Make sure you are on the Punjab result, because the UHS portal only holds Punjab candidates. If you sat the test in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sindh, Balochistan, or Islamabad, your result is on your own testing university’s website, not on the UHS portal. I explain that in detail below.
If everything matches and it still does not work, wait an hour and try again. Result portals crash under load. On the evening of 24 September, thousands of students were hitting the same page at the same time. A failed search at 8 pm often works fine at 10 pm.
One more thing: never type your CNIC number into a random result website. The official UHS portal asks for your roll number and name. It does not need your CNIC to show you your result. Any site that demands your CNIC, your phone number, or money before showing a result is not official, and you should not trust it with your personal details.
The Punjab numbers: how many appeared, how many qualified
Here is what the Punjab result looked like, in plain numbers.
Out of 49,202 candidates who registered with UHS for MDCAT 2026, 47,475 actually appeared for the test on 20 September, and 1,727 stayed away. Of those who sat the test, 37,708 scored at least 55 percent, which is the minimum for MBBS. That works out to 79.43 percent of the candidates who appeared. For BDS, the minimum is 50 percent, and 40,457 candidates reached that mark, which is 85.22 percent of those who appeared.
| Punjab MDCAT 2026 | Number |
|---|---|
| Registered candidates | 49,202 |
| Candidates who appeared | 47,475 |
| Candidates absent | 1,727 |
| Qualified for MBBS (55% and above) | 37,708 |
| Qualified for BDS (50% and above) | 40,457 |
Those numbers tell you something important, and it is not what most students think. Qualifying is not the same as getting a seat. More than 37,000 students qualified for MBBS in Punjab alone, but public medical colleges in the province have only a few thousand seats. Your MDCAT score gets you through the door. Your aggregate decides which college, if any, opens that door for you.
What are the MDCAT passing marks for 2026?
The MDCAT 2026 paper was out of 180 marks, with 180 multiple-choice questions and no negative marking. The passing marks are set as percentages, and they are the same across the country.
For MBBS, you need at least 55 percent. That is 99 marks out of 180. For BDS, you need at least 50 percent. That is 90 marks out of 180.
Score 99 or more, and you can apply for MBBS. Score between 90 and 98, and you can apply for BDS but not MBBS. Score below 90, and you do not qualify for either this year, even if your FSc marks are excellent.
A lot of students get confused here, so let me say it plainly. A score of 99 does not mean you will get into a medical college. It means you are allowed to apply. The real competition starts after that, on merit.
Your aggregate matters more than your MDCAT score alone
This is the part nobody explained to me properly when I first started following admissions, and it is the part that decides everything.
UHS calculates your admission merit as an aggregate, a single percentage out of 100. The formula is simple: 50 percent weight for your MDCAT score, 40 percent for your FSc (Pre-Medical) marks, and 10 percent for your matric marks.
Aggregate = (MDCAT marks / 180 × 50) + (FSc marks / 1,100 × 40) + (Matric marks / 1,100 × 10)
Let me show you with a real example. Say a student scored 165 out of 180 in MDCAT, 1,020 out of 1,100 in FSc, and 1,050 out of 1,100 in matric. Her aggregate would be (165 / 180 × 50) + (1,020 / 1,100 × 40) + (1,050 / 1,100 × 10), which comes to 45.83 + 37.09 + 9.55, or about 92.47 percent.
Now compare her with a student who scored 175 in MDCAT but only 950 in FSc and 980 in matric. His aggregate would be 48.61 + 34.55 + 8.91, or about 92.07 percent. The second student scored ten marks more in MDCAT and still ends up slightly behind, because FSc carries 40 percent of the weight.
That is why students who did well in FSc should not lose hope after an average MDCAT, and why students with a great MDCAT score should not relax if their FSc marks are weak. Both parts count, and FSc counts for nearly as much as the entry test.
You also need at least 60 percent in FSc Pre-Medical (or equivalent) to be eligible for MBBS or BDS admission in Punjab under the 2026-27 policy, along with a passing MDCAT score and a Punjab domicile. Check the current UHS prospectus before you apply, because the policy is the final word, not this article.
If you want the full admission picture for Punjab, read our guide on UHS MBBS admission 2026-27. It covers the colleges, the policy, and the application process in one place.
Not from Punjab? Your result is somewhere else
This is the single biggest source of confusion every year, so here it is in bold terms: there is no single national MDCAT result list.
MDCAT 2026 was held on the same day, 20 September 2026, across the country, but each province and region had its own testing university, its own paper, and its own result. UHS Lahore ran the test for Punjab only. If you sat the test in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, your result is with Khyber Medical University (KMU) in Peshawar. KMU announced its result too, with about 37,747 candidates appearing and a 66 percent success rate, and the topper scoring a full 180 out of 180.
Sindh, Balochistan, Islamabad, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Azad Jammu and Kashmir each have their own conducting universities as well. You must check the website of the university that conducted your test. Searching for your roll number on the UHS portal will not work if you sat the test outside Punjab, no matter how many times you try.
The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) sets the framework, the syllabus, and the passing percentages, but it does not publish the 2026 results. Its own result pages cover older sessions from when the council ran the test itself. Do not wait for your 2026 result on pmdc.pk. It will not appear there.
The question papers are now public, and that matters
Something unusual happened after MDCAT 2026, and it is worth knowing about, especially if you had a problem with the answer key.
After the test, invigilators collected the question papers back from candidates along with their answer sheets. Students could not take their paper home, which meant they could not check their answers against the official answer key or raise a proper objection if they thought a key answer was wrong.
Students challenged this in the Lahore High Court. Justice Syed Ahsan Raza Kazmi, sitting at the Rawalpindi bench, ruled in Writ Petition No. 3516 of 2026, dated 16 October 2026, that the practice was wrong and directed UHS to upload all the Punjab MDCAT 2026 question papers to its website and keep them publicly accessible until the admission process is complete.
UHS complied. All four question papers, Paper IDs A, B, C, and D, are now on the UHS website under the public notices section. You can download your paper ID, sit with the official answer key, and check your answers question by question. If you think the key got a question wrong, that is the evidence you need.
Answer-key complaints for MDCAT 2026 closed on 3 November 2026. If you missed that window, you cannot raise a fresh complaint now, but the papers are still useful. Students preparing for MDCAT 2027 can use them as the most realistic practice material available, because they are the actual papers from this year, not a guess made by an academy.
What to do after you check your result

Checking the result is the easy part. What you do next decides your admission.
If you qualified for MBBS, start your application homework now. Do not wait for the merit lists. Read the UHS admission policy for 2026-27, check the list of public and private colleges, and keep your documents ready: matric and FSc result cards, domicile, CNIC or B-Form, and your MDCAT result card. Applications open through the UHS admission portals, and the schedule is announced on uhs.edu.pk. Our UHS MBBS admission guide walks through the process step by step.
If you qualified for BDS only, look at dental colleges seriously. A lot of students treat BDS as a backup plan and then apply half-heartedly. Dental colleges in Punjab, public and private, offer a solid career, and the competition for BDS seats is real too. Compare the fee structures and the closing merits from last year before you decide.
If you are thinking about private medical colleges, check the fees before you fall in love with a college. Private MBBS fees in Pakistan are high, and they vary a lot from one college to another. Read our guide on private MBBS admission in Pakistan before you apply anywhere, so you know what you are signing up for.
If you are considering NUMS, remember it is a separate track. The National University of Medical Sciences runs its own admission test and its own admissions for its constituent and affiliated colleges. A UHS result does not get you into a NUMS college. See our guide on NUMS MBBS admission 2026-27 for that route.
If you did not qualify, take a day to be disappointed, then make a plan. You have real options. You can prepare again for MDCAT 2027 with a full year of focused study, and the 2026 papers now being public makes that preparation much easier. You can also look at other health science degrees, such as DPT, Pharm-D, nursing, or allied health sciences, which do not need an MDCAT pass. What you should not do is pay an agent who promises you a seat in exchange for money. That is a scam, every single time.
Common mistakes students make with the MDCAT result
I have watched students make the same mistakes year after year, so here is the short list.
The first mistake is checking the result on a fake website and handing over personal details or money. Use only results.uhs.edu.pk for Punjab. That is the whole list of websites you need.
The second mistake is typing the name wrong and deciding the result is missing. Copy it from the admittance card. Do not type it from memory.
The third mistake is treating a pass as a seat. A pass lets you apply. Your aggregate and the closing merit of each college decide whether you get in.
The fourth mistake is forgetting to save the result card. Screenshot it, download it, and keep a copy in your email as well as on your phone. Phones get lost. Emails do not.
The fifth mistake is waiting until the last day to apply. Admission portals get slow, documents go missing, and banks close. Apply early, and keep the fee receipt safe.
And one mistake from a different part of school life, since result-checking habits carry over: if you also need to check a board result, the SMS method has its own traps, like using the wrong board code. Our guide on how to check your matric result by SMS in Pakistan covers that, and the same rule applies here too. Always use the official channel, and always double-check the code or the roll number before you send anything.
A quick note for students waiting on their 11th class result
A lot of MDCAT candidates are also waiting on their first-year result, because FSc marks carry 40 percent of the aggregate. If you are one of them, your board result matters just as much as your MDCAT score. Our guide on the 11th class result 2026 for BISE Lahore explains how to check it and what to do if there is a mistake in your marks.
Final thoughts
The MDCAT 2026 result check online is a simple process once you know the right address, and that address is results.uhs.edu.pk for Punjab candidates. Keep your admittance card nearby, type your name exactly as it is printed, tick the reCAPTCHA, and save your result card the moment it appears.
Your score is a number, and numbers feel final on the day they come out. They are not. A pass is the start of the admission process, not the end of it. Work out your aggregate honestly, look at last year’s closing merits, apply to the colleges that fit your merit, and keep your documents ready. And if your score was not what you hoped for, remember that one test does not decide your whole future. Plenty of good doctors took more than one attempt to get in, and plenty of good careers in health sciences never needed an MDCAT pass at all.
Check the official portal, save your result, and take the next step with a clear head.

Go to results.uhs.edu.pk, choose the entry test option, select the MDCAT 2026 result for the test held on 20 September 2026, enter your roll number and name exactly as printed on your admittance card, tick the reCAPTCHA, and press Submit.
When was the MDCAT 2026 result announced in Punjab?
UHS Lahore announced the Punjab result on 24 September 2026, four days after the test was held on 20 September 2026.
What are the MDCAT 2026 passing marks for MBBS and BDS?
You need at least 55 percent, or 99 marks out of 180, for MBBS, and at least 50 percent, or 90 marks out of 180, for BDS.
Can I check my MDCAT 2026 result by roll number only?
No. The UHS portal asks for your roll number and your name, both exactly as printed on your admittance card, plus the reCAPTCHA check.
How is the MDCAT aggregate calculated for admission?
The aggregate is 50 percent MDCAT, 40 percent FSc, and 10 percent matric. For example, (MDCAT marks / 180 × 50) + (FSc marks / 1,100 × 40) + (Matric marks / 1,100 × 10).

Where can I find the MDCAT 2026 question papers?
UHS has uploaded all four MDCAT 2026 question papers (Paper IDs A, B, C, and D) on uhs.edu.pk under public notices, following a Lahore High Court order in Writ Petition No. 3516 of 2026 dated 16 October 2026.
Does passing the MDCAT guarantee admission to a medical college?
No. Passing means you are eligible to apply. Admission depends on your aggregate merit, the number of seats, and the closing merit of each college.
Verification note (checked 7 November 2026): Directly re-verified on the official sites today: the UHS results portal at results.uhs.edu.pk is live (UHS Lahore portal page, crawled 7 November 2026), and the UHS homepage at uhs.edu.pk (crawled 6 November 2026) lists the Lahore High Court Rawalpindi Bench order in Writ Petition No. 3516 of 2026 dated 16 October 2026, with MDCAT 2026 question papers A, B, C, and D uploaded, plus the Public/Private MBBS-BDS Admission 2026-27 notice. The following facts could NOT be read directly on uhs.edu.pk in this session and are reported here as widely and consistently reported (they match the UHS result notice as covered by multiple news outlets): the result announcement date of 24 September 2026, the headline figures of 49,202 registered, 47,475 appeared, 37,708 qualified for MBBS and 40,457 for BDS, and the answer-key complaint closing date of 3 November 2026. The UHS result notice file is hosted on Google Drive and requires sign-in to open, and the result notice no longer appears among the top notices on the UHS homepage crawl. The 50/40/10 aggregate formula is confirmed in reporting of the Punjab MBBS/BDS admission policy for 2026-27; readers should confirm it in the current UHS prospectus before applying. The KMU figures (37,747 appeared, 66 percent success rate, topper 180/180) are reported by The News and KMU coverage, not read on kmu.edu.pk in this session. No merit list dates or 2026-27 closing merits are stated in this article because none were confirmed on an official source at the time of writing.
