My younger cousin spent the whole morning of result day sitting next to our old PTCL router, phone in one hand and his roll number slip in the other. Every few minutes he would refresh the board website, watch it crawl, and then look at me like I had personally broken the internet. This guide covers the 9th class result 2026 Punjab boards check online by roll number, SMS and gazette. By 10:30 he had tried the website four times, sent two SMS messages to two different codes he found on two different websites, and was convinced he had failed because the page would not load. He had not failed. He had passed with decent marks. He just did not know it yet, because nobody had told him the simple stuff: which website was the real one, which SMS code belonged to his board, and what to do when the site slows down under the weight of half of Punjab checking at the same time.
That morning is the reason this guide exists. If you sat your 9th class papers under any of the nine Punjab boards in 2026, everything you need to check your result is below. No guesswork, no random links, and an honest note wherever something could not be confirmed on an official board website.
The result is out: 2 September 2026 at 10:00 AM
Here is the short version first, because on result day nobody wants a long story before the answer. All nine Punjab boards announced the 9th class result 2026, the SSC Part-I First Annual Examination result, on Wednesday, 2 September 2026 at 10:00 AM. Lahore, Gujranwala, Multan, Faisalabad, Rawalpindi, Bahawalpur, Sargodha, DG Khan and Sahiwal all released their results at the same hour, on the same day. That is how Punjab does it every year: the Punjab Boards Committee of Chairmen fixes one shared date and time, and every board follows it.
The date is not something I am repeating from a random result website. It comes from BISE Lahore’s own result gazette notification for the SSC Part-I First Annual Examination 2026, which states plainly that the result was announced on September 02, 2026. The same notification confirms the exams ran from 17 April to 8 May 2026. The 10th class result had already come out earlier, on 6 August 2026, which is why so many students were watching the calendar for the 9th class date all through late August.
For BISE Lahore alone, 280,676 students appeared in the exam and 130,543 passed, which works out to a pass percentage of 46.51%. That number is also from the board’s own gazette figures. It is lower than many students expected, and it explains why so many families were anxiously refreshing their screens that morning. If your marks feel lower than you hoped, you are far from alone this year, and there are real options after the result, which I will get to below.
One thing worth knowing before you check: the result you see online is provisional. The board says so in its own notification. Your official result card, the printed one your school will hand you, is the final record. If the online result and your result card ever disagree, the card wins, and the board’s office is the place to sort it out.
Method 1: 9th class result 2026 Punjab boards check online by roll number
This is the method most students use, and it is free. You need your roll number, which is printed on your roll number slip. Keep the slip next to you before you start. Typing the number from memory is the single most common reason students see a “record not found” message and panic for no reason.
- Open your board’s official website. For Lahore, that is biselahore.com, and the result portal is result.biselahore.com. The full list of all nine boards is in the table further down this page, so use the one that issued your roll number slip.
- Look for the Results section and select SSC Part-I, 9th Class, First Annual Examination 2026. Boards sometimes list several exams at once, including the second annual exams, so read the label before you click.
- Type your roll number exactly as printed on your slip, digits only, with no spaces and no dashes.
- Submit, and wait. On result morning the page can take a minute or two. Do not keep hitting refresh every five seconds. That only adds to the load.
- Your result will show your subject-wise marks and your total out of 550. Take a screenshot or save it as a PDF for your own record, but remember it is provisional until your result card arrives.
My cousin’s mistake, the one I mentioned at the start, was typing biselahore.com into Google and clicking the first thing that looked like a result link. Some of those links go to private result websites that show you ads first and your result second, if at all. Type the board’s address directly into the address bar instead. It takes five seconds and it keeps you on the official site.
If the site will not load at all, do not assume the result has been delayed. Between 10:00 and 11:00 on result day, every board website in Punjab slows down at the same time because hundreds of thousands of students are checking together. Wait fifteen or twenty minutes and try again, or switch to the SMS method below, which does not need the internet at all.
Method 2: Check your 9th class result 2026 by SMS
The SMS method is the quiet hero of result day. It works on any mobile phone, even an old keypad phone, and it does not care whether the board website is down. You send your roll number as a text message to your board’s SMS code, and the board replies with your marks. Normal SMS charges apply, so keep a little balance on your SIM.
The steps are the same for every board:
- Open a new text message on your phone.
- Type only your roll number in the message. Nothing else. No name, no board name, no extra words.
- Send it to your board’s SMS code from the table below.
- Wait a few minutes for the reply. On result day the reply can take longer than usual because the system is busy.
Here are the SMS codes for all nine Punjab boards:
| Board | SMS code | Send |
|---|---|---|
| BISE Lahore | 800291 | Your roll number only |
| BISE Gujranwala | 800299 | Your roll number only |
| BISE Rawalpindi | 800296 | Your roll number only |
| BISE Faisalabad | 800240 | Your roll number only |
| BISE Multan | 800293 | Your roll number only |
| BISE Sargodha | 800290 | Your roll number only |
| BISE Sahiwal | 800292 | Your roll number only |
| BISE Bahawalpur | 800298 | Your roll number only |
| BISE DG Khan | 800295 | Your roll number only |
Important warning: the BISE Lahore SMS code is reported two ways
The BISE Lahore SMS code is 800291 — type only your roll number and send it to 800291. Some older pages still list 80029, but that version is one digit short and will not return a result. The 2026 result-day coverage consistently gives 800291, which also fits the pattern of the other boards. The board’s own homepage does not print an SMS code, so this rests on that consistent 2026 reporting rather than a board notice.
What should you do? Send your roll number to 800291 and wait ten or fifteen minutes for the reply. If nothing comes back, check the result online first rather than resending again and again — each message costs you balance and none of them will make the reply come faster. And never send your roll number to a code that belongs to a different board. A Multan roll number sent to the Lahore code will return nothing, because each board only searches its own records.
The codes for the other eight boards are consistent across the sources I checked, but the same honest rule applies: your board’s official website is the final word. If a code does not work for you, check the board’s site rather than trusting a random page that lists codes.
Method 3: Check your result in the official gazette by name
The gazette is the board’s complete published record of the result. It is a large PDF file, arranged by roll number, with every candidate’s name, father’s name, school, subject-wise marks, total and grade. It is the best option if you have lost your roll number slip, or if you want to check a result by name instead of by roll number.
- Go to your board’s official website and look for the Result Gazette or Gazette section.
- Download the 9th class, SSC Part-I Annual Examination 2026 gazette PDF. The file is large, so download it on Wi-Fi if you can.
- Open the PDF and use the search function, usually Ctrl+F on a computer, to find your roll number or your full name.
- Check the marks against your name and your father’s name, because there are always students with the same name in a board covering four or five districts.
The gazette usually goes online on result day itself, a little after the online result, sometimes within half an hour to an hour of the 10:00 AM announcement. BISE Lahore’s own notification describes the gazette as a notice only, with errors and omissions excepted, which is another way of saying the printed result card is the final authority. Still, for finding a result by name, the gazette is the official route, and it beats every third-party name search tool.
All nine Punjab boards: official websites, districts and SMS codes
Punjab has nine Boards of Intermediate and Secondary Education, and each one covers a fixed set of districts. Your board is the one that issued your roll number slip, not the board of the city you happen to live in now. A student who sat the papers in Kasur is under BISE Lahore even if the family has since moved, so always go by the slip.
| Board | Districts covered | Official website | SMS code |
|---|---|---|---|
| BISE Lahore | Lahore, Kasur, Sheikhupura, Nankana Sahib | biselahore.com | 800291 |
| BISE Gujranwala | Gujranwala, Gujrat, Hafizabad, Mandi Bahauddin, Narowal, Sialkot | bise.grw.edu.pk | 800299 |
| BISE Multan | Multan, Khanewal, Lodhran, Vehari | bisemultan.edu.pk | 800293 |
| BISE Faisalabad | Faisalabad, Chiniot, Jhang, Toba Tek Singh | bisefsd.edu.pk | 800240 |
| BISE Rawalpindi | Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum | biserwp.edu.pk | 800296 |
| BISE Bahawalpur | Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar, Rahim Yar Khan | bisebwp.edu.pk | 800298 |
| BISE Sargodha | Sargodha, Khushab, Mianwali, Bhakkar | bisesargodha.edu.pk | 800290 |
| BISE DG Khan | DG Khan, Muzaffargarh, Layyah, Rajanpur | bisedgkhan.edu.pk | 800295 |
| BISE Sahiwal | Sahiwal, Okara, Pakpattan | bisesahiwal.edu.pk | 800292 |
Bookmark your board’s site once you have it. You will need it again for the result card, for rechecking, and for the 10th class papers next year. If you want a fuller walkthrough of the SMS method, including what to do when a reply never comes, our guide on how to check matric result by SMS in Pakistan covers it step by step.
What to do after you see your 9th class result
If you passed, well done. Save a copy of the online result, then wait for your school to give you the official result card. Your 9th class marks count towards your matric total, so the work you do in 10th class matters just as much. If you are already thinking about what comes after matric, it is not too early to look at your options. Our guide to BS admission 2026 in Pakistan explains how admissions work after intermediate, and if you want to start earning while you study, how to start freelancing after matric is a practical place to begin.
If a subject shows up as failed, or your marks look wrong in a paper you were confident about, you have two real options. The first is rechecking. BISE Lahore’s gazette notification states that students can apply for rechecking online through the board’s website within 15 days of the result. The board’s homepage currently lists a rechecking portal for the SSC 9th class first annual exam 2026, so apply quickly and do not wait until the last day. Rechecking means the board checks that your paper was marked completely and the marks were added up correctly. It is not a full re-marking, and it costs a fee per paper, so pick the papers where you genuinely believe something went wrong rather than applying for all of them.
The second option is the supplementary, or second annual, examination. If you could not clear a subject, you do not have to repeat the whole year. You can appear again in the supplementary exams for that subject. Your school office, or your board’s website, will have the admission schedule, and it is worth asking about it in the same week as the result instead of leaving it for later.
And if you are reading this because a younger brother or sister just got their result and you are helping them, remember that the 10th class result works the same way. Our guide to the BISE Lahore 10th class result 2026 walks through that one, and the 11th class result 2026 for BISE Lahore covers what happens when those students move up to intermediate.
Mistakes to avoid on result day
Most result day problems are not caused by the board. They are caused by small mistakes that are easy to avoid once you know about them.
The first is checking on the wrong board’s website. Every board has its own database, and a Gujranwala roll number will simply not exist on the Lahore portal. If the site says “record not found”, check that you are on the right board’s site before you assume anything about your result.
The second is typing the roll number wrong. Roll numbers are long, and one wrong digit gives you either nothing or, worse, somebody else’s result. Read the number off the slip, type it, then read it again before you press submit. My cousin did this the other way round: he typed from memory, got someone else’s marks, and spent twenty minutes thinking he had scored far higher than he had. Funny afterwards, not funny at the time.
The third is trusting screenshots and forwarded messages. On result day, WhatsApp groups fill up with edited screenshots claiming a new date, a changed SMS code, or a leaked position holder list. If it did not come from your board’s official website, treat it as gossip until the board confirms it.
The fourth is paying anyone for your result. Checking your result online and by SMS costs nothing beyond normal SMS charges. No agent, no website and no academy can get your result early or change it for a fee. Anyone asking for money for that is running a scam.
The fifth is sharing your roll number publicly. Posting it in a Facebook group or a comment section so a stranger can “check it for you” hands your full marks to people you do not know. Check it yourself, or ask a family member you trust.
If your result does not show up at all
Sometimes everything is done right and the result still does not appear. Here is what to check, in order. First, confirm the result has actually been announced for your board, on your board’s official website, and that you are not checking a day early because of a wrong date circulating online. Second, recheck your roll number digit by digit against the slip. Third, try the SMS method, which uses a different system from the website and often works when the site is down. Fourth, try the gazette, and search by your name if the roll number search fails. If none of that works, contact your school first, because schools receive result lists directly, and then your board’s helpline. Keep your roll number slip with you when you call, because it is the first thing they will ask for.

You can apply online through your board’s website within 15 days of the result announcement. For BISE Lahore, the rechecking portal is listed on biselahore.com. There is a fee per paper, so apply only for the papers where you believe a mistake was made, and apply early rather than on the last day.
What if I fail a subject in 9th class?
You do not have to repeat the whole year. You can appear in the supplementary, or second annual, examination for the failed subject. Ask your school or check your board’s website for the admission schedule, and do it in the same week as the result.
A last word
Result day feels bigger than it is, and I say that as someone who has watched it from both sides now. My cousin refreshed that page a dozen times and was sure something had gone wrong, and all that had actually gone wrong was a slow website and a wrong SMS code from a random page. His result was waiting for him the whole time on the official board site. Yours is too. Use the board’s own website, use your own board’s SMS code, keep your roll number slip safe, and if something looks wrong, rechecking and the supplementary exam exist for exactly that reason. The 9th class result is one step in a long school career, not the end of it, and the students who handle it calmly are the ones who start 10th class with a clear head.

Verification note: Result date 2 September 2026 at 10:00 AM verified against BISE Lahore’s own gazette notification (SSC Part-I First Annual Examination 2026: exams 17 April–8 May 2026, result announced 2 September 2026, rechecking within 15 days via biselahore.com) and confirmed live on biselahore.com, which lists the SSC 9th class rechecking and result card portals. Lahore pass figures (130,543 of 280,676, 46.51%) are from the same gazette. 10th class result date 6 August 2026 confirmed via board reporting. NOT verified on an official board site: the BISE Lahore SMS code — checked again 7 November 2026, when the 2026 result-day coverage (Pakistan Observer, The Neutral, The Asian Mirror, ilmkidunya) and SMS-code guides consistently reported 800291, with two sources explicitly noting 80029 is one digit short and returns nothing; the article now states 800291, with the caveat that the board’s own homepage (checked 7 Nov 2026) publishes no SMS code, so this rests on that consistent reporting. SMS codes for the other eight boards (Gujranwala 800299, Rawalpindi 800296, Faisalabad 800240, Multan 800293, Sargodha 800290, Sahiwal 800292, Bahawalpur 800298, DG Khan 800295) agree across multiple independent sources but were not individually confirmed on each board’s official homepage, which does not publish them prominently; the article tells readers to confirm on their board’s site. Pass percentages for boards other than Lahore were not verified and are not stated in the article. Board district lists are the standard published jurisdictions.
